Disney continues to prepare the audience for the theatrical release of Mufasa: The Lion Kinga prequel to the 2019 photorealistic installment, in turn a remake of the animated classic The lion king from 1994. This new installment will also be a photorealistic version, not strictly a live-action.

Let us remember that the marketing of the 2019 film promoted said film as a live-action, something that caused controversy among the audience, which is why for this prequel they are choosing to discard the words “live action.” The film is achieved by combining live-action cinematographic techniques with photorealistic computer-generated imagery.

The latest in the marketing campaign is a new official poster promoting the features in Screen X, available at the end of this note.

Meanwhile, we remind you that Mufasa: The Lion Kingdirected by Oscar winner, Barry Jenkins (Moonlight), sees the baboon Rafiki telling the legend of Mufasa to his granddaughter Kiara. According to the description, the story will be told in flashbacks and will follow Mufasa (which means “king” in Swahili) as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a friendly lion named Taka, the heir to a royal bloodline.

The script was written by Jeff Nathanson (The Terminal, Rush Hour 3, Catch Me If You Can). Nathanson scripted the remake of the king 2019 lion.

The cast that lends its voice is made up of Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge, Genius) as Mufasa (in previous installments voiced by James Earl Jones), with Kelvin Harrison Jr. (Genius, Elvis) like Taka, the returns of Donald Glover y Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Simba and Nala, respectively, with the latter's daughter, Blue Ivy Carter making her film debut lending her voice to Kara.

There will also be the additions of Mads Mikkelsen (Another Round) y Thank you Newton (Westworld), and the returns of Seth Rogen y Billy Eichner as Timon and Pumbaa.

Lin-Manuel Miranda He composed the film's original soundtrack.
