Universal Pictures, Nintendo e Illumination Studios continue to prepare the audience for the premiere of The Super Mario Galaxy Movieahead of its arrival in theaters in April.
The latest is a new group poster, featuring the first look at the villain Wart, voiced by Luis Guzman (Wednesday). The character served as the main antagonist of the video game Super Mario Bros. 2as the leader of a gang nicknamed the 8 bits, who creates monsters by playing with the dream machine.

By the way, in this new adventure, Yoshi joins Mario, Luigi and Toad, after being rescued from the Kingdom of Sands. His return was teased in the post-credits scene of The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023). Donald Glover (Atlanta) lends his voice to Yoshi.

The new additions are Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) as Princess Rosalina, Benny Safdie (Oppenheimer) as Bowser Jr., Issa Rae (Insecure, Barbie) as Honeyqueen, Glover as Yoshi, and Guzmán as Wart.
Aaron Horvath y Michael Jelenic they return as directors, while Matthew Fogel returns as screenwriter.
The music is provided by Brian Tyler, making his return as a composer.
The producers are Chris Meleandri of Illumination, and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo. The film is co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo, and will be released globally in theaters by Universal.
The previous delivery, The Super Mario Bros. Movierevolutionized the box office upon its release in 2023, positioning itself as the third highest-grossing animated film of all time at the global box office with $1.36 billion, behind number two, Inside Out 2 ($1,698 million), and the absolute animated champion, Ne Zha 2 ($2,150 million). The film earned a net profit of $559 million after all subsequent revenues.
The premiere of Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie is scheduled for April 1, 2026.
