NEON shared the second trailer for the family drama Valor Sentimental (Sentimental Value), by the filmmaker Joachim Trierin a new collaboration with Renate Reinsveits protagonist in The Worst Person in the World (2021).
Trier wrote the script with Eskil Vogtboth were nominated for an Oscar for best original screenplay for The Worst Person in the World.
In addition to Reinsve, the main cast includes Stellan Skarsgård (Andor, Dune: Part Two), Elle Fanning (A Complete Unknown, The Great), Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas (A Beautiful Life).
Cory Michael Smith (Saturday Night, Mountainhead), Anders Danielsen Lie (The Worst Person in the World), y Jesper Christensen (Casino Royale, Spectre), complete the cast.
In the plot, sisters Nora (Reinsve) and Agnes (Lilleaas) reunite with their estranged father, the charismatic Gustav (Skarsgård), a renowned former director who offers theater actress Nora a role in what he hopes will be her comeback film. When Nora turns him down, she soon discovers that he has given her role to an eager young Hollywood star (Fanning). Suddenly, The two sisters must deal with their complicated relationship with their father and an American star. that is involved in the complex family dynamics.
The most recent trailer reveals emotional moments with Skarsgård's character, in a performance that seems destined for a 2026 Oscar nomination. In addition, it highlights some comments from critics with praise for “a perfect and transcendent film”, “a deeply beautiful expression that art can heal us” and “one of the best films of the decade, if not of history.”
Sentimental Value is described as “An intimate and moving exploration of family, memories and the reconciling power of art”.
The film was chosen as representative of Norway to achieve a nomination in the Best International Film category at the 98th Academy Awards. It is also expected to compete in other categories such as Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress (Renate Reinsve), Best Supporting Actor (Stellan Skarsgård), Best Supporting Actress (Elle Fanning) and Best Original Screenplay.
The film received almost 20 minutes of applause at the most recent edition of the Cannes Film Festival, where it celebrated its world premiere and where it won the Grand Prix.

NEON will premiere Sentimental Value he November 7 under limited release in the United States.
The global distributor and streaming platform IN BAD will be the in charge of its premiere in cinemas in Mexicowith a scheduled date for December 25, 2025.
