Spider-Black is a live action series based on the Marvel comic, Spider-Man Black. Spider-Black tells the story of Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), an experienced and failed private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to deal with his past after a deep personal tragedy as the city's only superhero.

Spider-Man Noir is an alternate version of Spider-Man from a universe set during the 1930s, characterized by its black and white aesthetic, Spider-Man Noir operates in a gritty noir-themed New York City. Unlike the more familiar and colorful Spider-Man, this version is a tough detective who fights crime in a dark and corrupt world, combining superhero elements with classic crime fiction tropes, such as moral ambiguity and a focus on crime drama.

Cage plays Ben Reilly, described by the platform as follows: “In his time, Ben Reilly was the superhero known as “The Spider”. After a personal tragedy, he abandoned his heroic alter ego. Only an extraordinary case could force this unfortunate private investigator to leave behind his role as an everyman and put on the mask again.”

As a curious fact, Cage played Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verseas one of the many variants that provided aid to Miles Morales.
