After the release of the acclaimed horror film Longlegsthe screenwriter and director Osgood Perkins joins forces again with the film company NEONfor the launch of his next film project.
It is about The Monkeythe anticipated adaptation based on the short story by Stephen Kingproduced by James Wanwritten and directed by Perkins.
The marketing campaign started last August with a teaser, now continuing with the first official poster. Next week the first full trailer will be released and we will have it here as soon as it is available.

The Monkey is starring Theo James (Divergent, The White Lotus, The Gentlemen) in double roles as twin brothers Hal and Bill.
The plot centers on Hal and Bill, who, after discovering their father's old toy monkey in the attic, begin to see a series of gruesome deaths occur around them. The brothers decide to get rid of the monkey and move on with their lives, growing apart as the years go by. But when the mysterious deaths begin again, the brothers must come together to find a way to destroy the monkey forever before it takes the lives of everyone they love.
The rest of the cast is made up of Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), Colin O’Brien (Wonka), Rohan Campbell (The Hardy Boys), y Sarah Levy (Schitt's Creek).
The feature film is produced by Wan and Michael Clear of Atomic Monster, Jason Cloth (Joker), Dave Caplan (Babylon), Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Insidious), and Chris Ferguson (Child’s Play). Executive producers are Fred Berger (La La Land), Peter Luo, Nancy Xu, y John Friedberg.
NEON debuts The Monkey on February 21, 2025 in theaters. In Mexico it will be distributed by Corazón Films under the title The monkey.
