The adaptation of the short story by Stephen King, The Monkeyfrom the screenwriter and director Osgood Perkinscelebrated the holidays with a new preview.
The marketing campaign shared a 3 minute and 30 second preview that begins with comments from Perkins, who this year scored a hit with the release of the horror film Longlegs.
Instead of a trailer as such, the look is a full scene showing the actress Sarah Levy (Schitt's Creek) playing a very unfortunate person. In just a few minutes, he suffers several near-fatal accidents and his fate is left uncertain in the end. It seems she knew something bad was coming as she stalked around the house paranoid with a gun in her hand.

The project marks a new collaboration between Perkins and the studio NEON, same studio that distributed the aforementioned and acclaimed Longlegs.
Graduated The monkey in our market, it is starred by Theo James (Divergent, The White Lotus, The Gentlemen) in double roles as twin brothers Hal and Bill.
The plot centers on Hal and Bill, who, after discovering their father's old toy monkey in the attic, begin to see a series of gruesome deaths occur around them. The brothers decide to get rid of the monkey and move on with their lives, growing apart as the years go by. But when the mysterious deaths begin again, the brothers must come together to find a way to destroy the monkey forever before it takes the lives of everyone they love.
The rest of the cast is made up Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Colin O’Brien (Wonka), Rohan Campbell (The Hardy Boys).
The feature film is produced by James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring) y Michael Clear de Atomic Monster, Jason Cloth (Joker), Dave Caplan (Babylon), Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Insidious), and Chris Ferguson (Child’s Play). Executive producers are Fred Berger (La La Land), Peter Luo, Nancy Xu, y John Friedberg.
The Monkey is a short horror story that appeared in Skeleton Crewa 1985 collection that also included The Mist, The Jaunt, The Raft, Survivor Type, The Reachamong others.
NEON debuts The Monkey on February 21, 2025 in theaters. In Mexico it will be distributed by Corazón Films.
