The legendary filmmaker's next film project Martin Scorsese recruit more talent for your cast.
Patricia Clarkson (Sharp Objects) becomes the most recent signing of the film titled What Happens at Nightjoining the previously announced protagonists, Leonardo DiCaprio y Jennifer LawrenceDeadline announced.
Clarkson previously worked with Scorsese on Shutter Island. His other projects include The Untouchables, Jumanji, The Green Mile, Dogville, Far From Heaven, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Easy Athe saga Maze Runner, One Day, She Saidy Lillyin addition to series like House of Cards, State of the Union, y Sharp Objects. We will soon see her in the second season of Ransom Canyon the Netflix.
Apple Studios is financing the project, and producing it together with Studiocanal. The latter acquired the rights to the Peter Cameron novel on which the film is based.
What Happens at Night is a dreamlike story that follows an American couple on a trip to a small, snowy European town to adopt a baby. They stay in a cavernous, virtually deserted hotel, where they encounter an enigmatic cast of characters, including a flamboyant singer, a depraved businessman, and a charismatic healer. Nothing is as it seems in this strange and icy world. As the couple fights to get their baby back, they seem to know less and less about themselves and the life they have built together.
DiCaprio and Lawrence will play the married couple at the center of the story.
Scorsese directs the script written by Patrick Marber (Closer, Notes on a Scandal), which adapts the novel by Peter Cameron.
It is a new collaboration between the filmmaker and DiCaprio. It will be his first film since Killers of the Flower Moonanother Apple Original Films production.
It is the first association between Scorsese and Lawrence, and a new one between Lawrence and DiCaprio, after being part of Don’t Look Up (2021) by Adam McKay.
The project is currently in pre-production; Filming is expected to begin soon.
