Ingredients
2 cups fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/3 cup pine nuts or walnuts
3 cloves of garlic
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
salt to taste
Directions
- Wash the basil leaves well and dry them carefully.
- In a food processor, place the basil leaves, pine nuts (or walnuts) and garlic cloves.
Grind until they are finely chopped. - Add the grated Parmesan cheese and mix again.
- With the processor on, slowly add the olive oil in a stream until obtaining a homogeneous mixture.
Stop adding the oil when you reach the desired consistency. - Taste and add salt to taste.
Mix again to incorporate the salt. - Transfer the pesto sauce to a jar or glass container with an airtight lid and store in the refrigerator.
