PGA Awards 2026: The Producers Guild announces nominees for the 37th edition

January marks the beginning of a new year, and also, the 2026 awards season.

After the Critics Choice 2026 awards ceremony took place last Sunday, officially starting a new awards season, the different organizations and unions have been revealing their respective nominations.

This same busy week we learned about the nominations for the Actor Awards, formerly known as the SAG Awards of the Screen Actors Guild, the nominations for the DGA Awards of the Directors Guild, and this morning it is the turn of the Producers Union (PGA) do the same.

The Producers Guild has announced its candidates for the 2026 PGA Awards in the film and television categories.

Competing for the union's top film award, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Motion Picture Producer, are Bugonia, F1, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, Sentimental Value, Sinners, Train Dreams y Weapons.

The inclusion of Weapons by Zach Cregger a pleasant surprise from this editionas the horror genre is often overlooked at awards ceremonies. The project became a critical and box office success, upon its theatrical release in August 2025. You can read our review here.

Some high-profile films that did not receive PGA nominations include Avatar: Fire and Ash, Jay Kelly, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhereno other project in a non-English language other than Sentimental Valuey Wicked: For Good.

By the way, the omission of more non-English language projects echoes what happened in the Screen Actors Guild and Directors Guild nominations, where not even Sentimental Value managed to be among the finalists. This caused outrage among critics and audiences.

He PGA Award is undoubtedly a key category for the Oscars y has been aligned with the Academy Award winner for Best Picture for 17 of the last 22 years. Last year, the Producers Guild (PGA) awarded its award to Anoraby Sean Baker.

Among the 2026 lifetime achievement honorees are Amy Pascal (David O. Selznick Lifetime Achievement Award), Mara Brock Akil (Norman Lear Lifetime Achievement Award), and Jason Blum (Achievement Award).

The winners will be honored at the 37th PGA Awards on Saturday, February 28 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
