Ingredients
400 g of wheat flour
200 g cold butter
1 whole egg
1 beaten egg yolk for the dough
salt to taste
6 tablespoons of milk
1 egg yolk to brush over the dough
1 kg boneless and cooked chicken breast
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped and crushed
1 chopped tomato without skin
1 tablespoon of olive oil
chopped green scent
1 can of green corn
1 can of tomato sauce
Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions
- In a bowl, mix the wheat flour and cold butter until it forms crumbs.
- Add the eggs, yolk, milk and salt and mix until a homogeneous dough forms.
- Divide the dough into two parts and wrap in plastic wrap.Â
Refrigerate for 30 minutes. - After resting, roll out the dough with a rolling pin and line the bottom and sides of a mold with a removable bottom.
- In a pan, sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil until golden.
- Add the chicken, tomatoes, corn, tomato sauce, green chillies, salt and black pepper to taste and mix well.
- Pour the filling into the prepared dough.
- Open the other part of the dough and cover the filling.
- Brush the egg yolk over the dough and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for around 40 minutes, or until golden.
Notes
- For a tastier dough, you can add 1 tablespoon of grated cheese to the dough.
- For a creamier filling, you can add 1/2 cup of cream cheese to the filling.
- You can replace the green corn with peas or olives.
- You can decorate the casserole with straw potatoes or grated cheese.
