The filmmaker Johannes Roberts will continue trying his luck in horror films, his next proposal being a feature film of the genre entitled Primatewhich he will direct for Paramount PicturesDeadline reported.
Roberts has directed other horror projects such as 47 Meters Down, The Strangers: Prey at Night, Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City, The Other Side of the Dooramong others.
The cast will be headed by Troy Kotsurwinner of the Oscar for best actor for CODA.
Roberts co-wrote the screenplay along with Ernest Riera (Nowhere, 47 Meters Down, The Other Side of the Door).
Plot details are currently being kept under wraps.
Walter Hamada Hamada will produce the feature as part of a new horror projects deal signed with Paramount Pictures. Hamada is the former president of DC Films, and has produced numerous genre projects with New Line, including the remakes of Friday the 13th y A Nightmare on Elm Streetalso the franchise of The Conjuring and its spinoffs, and the successful adaptations of IT.
With the agreement signed with Paramount, Hamada will produce with his company 18hz Productions, several mid-budget horror films per year, both for theaters and streaming.
