REIRIE «BaD＝DoLL» – You’re now used to me coming up with something that doesn’t fall into the indie sound range. Today it's a Japanese duo called REIRIE, consisting of Kuromiya Rei (formerly of Brats and Ladybaby) and Kaneko Rie (also ex-Ladybaby). Their style is called “J-Pop”, but anyone who knows this collective term in Japan will be able to guess that pop is just one of many style elements that come into play here. The new single, which was written by one of the BABYMETAL team, is much louder and harder. Really great song!
Strawberry Whiplash «The Vampire Life» – and for relaxation for everyone who prefers the classic indie guitar sound that I used to pay homage to here in the blog, a new song by Scottish strum pop legend Stawberry Whiplash, released as always on Matinée Recordings. Also very beautiful.
