The prolific producer and film director, Sam Raimicreator of the horror franchise Evil Deadhas closed an agreement with 20th Century Studios to direct and produce the original horror thriller, Send Help.

According to Deadline reports, “The film is described as a two-handed horror thriller set on an island. The story falls somewhere between the Stephen King adaptation, Miseryby Rob Reiner, and Castaway by Robert Zemeckis.”
The script is ready and was written by Damian Shannon y Mark Swift. Screenwriters have written the scripts of Freddy vs. Jason (2003), the reboot Friday the 13th (2009), and the reboot of Baywatch (2017).
Raimi will produce the feature alongside Zainab Azizi of Raimi Productions.
20th Century Studios will give it a traditional theatrical release.
Raimi's directing credits include Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessthe trilogy Spider-Man, Drag Me To Hell, Oz the Great and Powerfuland of course, the original delivery of Evil DeadRaimi remains involved in the horror series as a producer, with two installments currently in development.
