Samara Weaving is listed for 'Ready or Not 2'

The horror hit of 2019, Ready or Notprepare the sequel Ready or Not 2which will feature the return of the charismatic protagonist Samara Weaving like the final girl, Grace Le Domas.

In an interview with ComicBook, Weaving says she is primed and ready for her return as Grace:

“I'm totally into it. I think we're all set, I don't know. I think we're all set. I don't know if we shook hands with blood, but more or less. We have shaken hands with saliva, but we have not cut our hands or rubbed blood.”

The original installment revolves around Grace (Weaving), a young woman who marries into a rich clan who wishes to defend the traditions of her ancestors. Particularly, those of their patriarchal board game tycoon, whose violent legacy is preserved by the current family members, who play a different, randomly selected children's game every time a stranger joins their family through marriage.

As Grace joins her husband's eccentric family, her wedding night takes a sinister turn when the traditional celebration turns into a terrifying and deadly game of hide and seek, as the young woman fights to survive. . Grace must stay alive from midnight to dawn. Mythology explains that this is based on a deal the Le Domas family made with the devil many decades earlier.

Ready Or Not It also launched the career of the director duo Tyler Gillett y Matt Bettinelli-Olpinwho together with producer Chad Villella, make up Radio Silence.

Gillet and Bettinelli-Olpin are not returning as directors of the sequel, although they are on board as producers. The director of the new installment will be Adam Robitel (Escape Roomthe sequel Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, Insidious: The Last Keyy The Taking of Deborah Logan).

In recent months, Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin talked about the sequel, teasing that the script is incredible:

“Ready or Not 2 is being resolved. There is a script that is fucking incredible as an absolute sequel. And however it is done, and in whatever capacity we help to do it, we are very excited that it is happening.”

“I don't think we knew after making [Ready or Not] that there would be so much story left to tell. We are very proud of what that first film is, we are very proud of what the sequel will be. We are very excited and have our fingers crossed that it gets done. And with Searchlight and Samara, they won't let you down.”

The film made $57 million at the worldwide box office, against a budget of $6 million.

Weaving, for his part, collaborated again with Radio Silence in a cameo for Scream VI. Other film projects she has been involved in include The Babysitter and the sequel The Babysitter: Killer Queen, Guns Akimbo, Bill & Ted Face the Music, The Valet, Chevalier, Babylonand the next one to be released in theaters, Azrael.
