Ingredients
1 package (10g) of dry yeast
1 teaspoon of sugar
3/4 cup warm water
2 cups of wheat flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 can of sardines in oil, drained
1/2 onion, cut into thin slices
Tomato sauce to taste
Grated mozzarella cheese
Black olives (optional)
Oregano to taste
Directions
- Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water and set aside for 5 minutes, until foamy.
- In a large bowl, mix the wheat flour and salt.
Add activated yeast and olive oil. - Knead the dough until it is homogeneous and elastic.
If necessary, add more flour or water. - Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rest in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface, forming a circle of the desired size.
- Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread the tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a border.
- Distribute the onion slices over the sauce.
- Place the drained sardines on the pizza.
- Add grated mozzarella cheese to taste.
- If desired, add black olives and sprinkle with oregano.
- Place the pizza in the preheated oven for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before cutting.
