Ingredients

  • 1 package (10g) of dry yeast

  • 1 teaspoon of sugar

  • 3/4 cup warm water

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 can of sardines in oil, drained

  • 1/2 onion, cut into thin slices

  • Tomato sauce to taste

  • Grated mozzarella cheese

  • Black olives (optional)

  • Oregano to taste

Directions

  • Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water and set aside for 5 minutes, until foamy.
  • In a large bowl, mix the wheat flour and salt. 
    Add activated yeast and olive oil.
  • Knead the dough until it is homogeneous and elastic. 
    If necessary, add more flour or water.
  • Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rest in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 220°C.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface, forming a circle of the desired size.
  • Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  • Spread the tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a border.
  • Distribute the onion slices over the sauce.
  • Place the drained sardines on the pizza.
  • Add grated mozzarella cheese to taste.
  • If desired, add black olives and sprinkle with oregano.
  • Place the pizza in the preheated oven for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before cutting. 
    Serve hot and enjoy!
