Twenty years! This year marks the 20th anniversary of theatrical release of SAWthe original installment of the slasher horror franchise created by James Wan y Leigh Whannell.

And to celebrate the occasion, Lionsgate and Fathom Events are bringing the original 2004 film back to theaters, with a twist: it's a screening of the unrated versionwhich has never been shown on the big screen before. Additionally, a special introduction by Tobin Bell.

This event will take place in theaters in the United States October 20 and 23so if you are in the country, you can purchase your tickets now at the following link.

SAW revolves around serial killer John Kramer, also known as Jigsaw Killer or Jigsaw. It traps victims in elaborate situations and traps that will test their will to live.

Whannell, Bell, Cary Elwes and Shawnee Smith made up the cast of the first SAW.

The original film debuted in 2004, and marked James Wan's debut as a feature film director. It surprised critics and audiences alike, and the success was such that it gave way to nine sequels, the most recent of which, SAW Xand another one underway, SAW XIwhich will be released in theaters in September 2025.

The global box office of the entire franchise exceeds $1 billion, while the combined budget of all of them reaches $120 million. An immense commercial success.
