There is already more news about a new installment of the franchise Jurassic World from Universal Pictures that will work as a reboot.
According to THR reports, Scarlett Johansson is in talks to join in a leading role.
The new installment will be filmed this year at Sky Studios Elstree in the United Kingdom, with filming planned for the summer, and with Release date set for Wednesday, July 2, 2025the studio is moving quickly to put all the pieces in place and start production.
Gareth Edwards (The Creator, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Godzilla) will direct the script written by David Koeppscreenwriter of Jurassic Park (1993) and the sequel Jurassic Park: The Lost World (1997).
If Johansson's signing is completed, it would mark the actress's return to a franchise project, after having been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing Black Widow.
His recent roles outside the world of Marvel include projects such as Jojo Rabbit, Marriage Story –she was nominated for an Oscar for both films– Asteroid Cityy North Star. She will soon be seen in a high-profile Apple project still without an official title, in which she shares credit with Channing Tatum. He is currently filming the suspense drama Featherwood by director Andrea Arnold.
The project will mark “a new Jurassic era”, with a completely new story. Which means that it is a reboot:
