A classic shrimp salad that balances tenderness and crunch, this dish delivers fresh seafood flavor with a smooth, tangy finish. It’s easy to prepare, versatile, and satisfying without feeling heavy.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 celery stalk, finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons red onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill or parsley, chopped

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Optional: lettuce leaves or toasted bread for serving

Directions

  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes until pink and opaque.
  • Drain shrimp and transfer to an ice bath to stop cooking. Pat dry and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard.
  • Add shrimp, celery, red onion, and herbs to the dressing. Gently mix until well coated.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Chill for 10–15 minutes before serving. Serve on lettuce, in a sandwich, or as-is.
