The renewed Apple TV announced this morning the Premiere date and first official looks at the third season from its original series Shrinking (Filterless therapy in our region).
Shrinking returns to our screens with a new season Wednesday, January 28, 2026premiering the first episode of the third season an Apple TV.
The rest of the episodes will be released weekly on Wednesdays, until the season finale on April 8, 2026. They will be 11 episodes in total.
The leading cast has the returns of Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Lukita Maxwell, Michael Urie, Luke Tenniey Ted McGinley.
In addition to the main cast, returning guest stars include Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso), who debuted in the second season as Louis Winston, Damon Wayans Jr., Wendie Malick y Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother), along with new additions to the series, Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom) giving life to Jimmy's dad, Sherry Cola (Nobody Wants This), Isabella Gomez (One Day at a Time), and five-time Emmy winner, Michael J. Fox (Back to the Future) who comes out of retirement to play a role that will most likely be related to the Parkinson's disease of the character Paul Rhoades, played by Ford.
Paul Rhoades was diagnosed with Parkinson's towards the end of the first season. The second season delved into Paul's battle, with an emotional performance from Ford. Fox has been battling Parkinson's for more than three decades.
The acclaimed series co-created by Segel, Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso), y Goldstein (Ted Lasso), focuses its plot on Jimmy (Segel), a grieving therapist who begins to break the rules and give his patients his honest opinion Instead of listening to his feelings and staying out of his life, ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes in people's lives…including his own. Jimmy must face the consequences of doing unconventional therapy, which his close circle nicknames as el “Jimmying”.
After the first season established the extent of Jimmy's grief, as well as the connections he has with his coworkers, his daughter Alice (Maxwell), his best friend Brian (Urie), and more, the second season focused on forgiveness. Louis (Goldstein) entered the picture as the drunk driver who caused the death of Jimmy's wife in a car accident, but many other characters also had their own story arcs about forgiveness.
Creator Bill Lawrence stated in a season two postmortem interview that “moving on” is the theme of the third season.
Segel, Goldstein, and Lawrence serve as executive producers alongside Neil Goldman, James Ponsoldt, Randall Winston, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Rachna Fruchbom, Brian Gallivan, and Annie Mebane. Ashley Nicole Black and Bill Posley join as executive producers for season three. Warner Bros. Television produces the series for Apple TV.
The series' mix of comedy and sincere narrative has won over the audience. His refreshing and vulnerable narrative has the opportunity to continue gaining momentum. Yesi liked it Ted Lasso, Shrinking It's a series you can't miss..
