The third installment of the franchise Sonic the Hedgehog from the study Paramount Pictures and the director Jeff Fowleris paving the way for its theatrical release, set by the studio for December 2024.
The latest in the marketing campaign that is starting, It's a new official logo which is what will be used for the promotion from now on. Paramount has already given the announcement: tomorrow, Tuesday, August 27, the first trailer will debut, and we will have it here as soon as it is published.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will have the return of Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey), who is depressed and out of shape, until he creates Shadow, whose voice will be performed by Keanu Reeves (John Wick). The character debuted in the video game Sonic Adventure 2 from 2001, and is considered in many ways the anti-Sonic.
The cast also features the return of Ben Schwartz lending his voice to Sonic, James Marsden like Tom Wachowski, Colleen O’Shaughnessey lending his voice to Tails, and Idris Elba a Knuckles. Con Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally y Lee Majdoub, Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Alyla Browne (Furious), James Wolk (Watchmen), Sofia Legs (Jane the Virgin), Christ Fernandez (Ted Lasso), y Jorma Taccone (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) completing the cast.
Sonic 3 has a script written by Pat Casey, Josh Millery John Whittington.
Sonic the Hedgehog has been a huge commercial success for Paramount. The combined global box office for the first two films totals $870.8 million. It is not surprising then that a third film, and even a spinoff series centered on Knuckles which will be released on Paramount+ this year.
Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara, and Hitoshi Okuno produce largometry.
In addition to starring in the action franchise John WickReeves reprised his iconic role as Neo in the sequel The Matrix: Resurrections (2021). We will soon see him as a guardian angel in Good Fortuneand making a cameo as John Wick in the spinoff Ballerinastarring Ana de Armas.
Paramount Pictures has set the release date for Sonic 3 in theaters around the world by December 20, 2024.
