Spirit Awards 2025: 'Anora' and 'I Saw the TV Glow' lead nominations

The nominations for the 40th edition of the Film Independent Spirit Awardswhich annually recognize the best of independent cinema and TV, have already been revealed.

The announcement of the nominees for the Spirit Awards 2025 is led by Anora y I Saw the TV Glowwith six nominations for each one. In the television category, Shōgun leads with five nominations, followed by Baby Reindeer and English Teacher with four nominations each.

Independent film installments such as Dìdi, Janet Planet, Sing Sing, Ghostlight, The People’s Joker, In the Summers, The Substance y Nickel Boys They also received multiple nominations.

The most winning films of the Spirit Awards 2024, American Fiction, The Holdovers y Past Livesended up being nominated for the Oscars.

The 40th edition ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025 in Los Angeles, CA.
