The Netflix phenomenon series, Squid Gameknown in our market as The squid gamejust premiered its second season last Thursday, December 26.
A few days later, the streamer surprised by revealing the first official poster of the third and final season.
The poster reveals that The final season premieres on the platform this year 2025.
The dystopian survival horror and thriller series originating from South Korea was created by Korean writer and television producer Hwang Dong-hyuk.
It's unclear exactly what will happen in season 3 of The squid gamebut it is the currently planned final season of the hit Netflix series. Despite this, creator Hwang does not believe it means the end of The squid game per se.
In an interview with The Wrap:
“I know Netflix has a plan [para más Squid Game]. “They are not going to rule out this idea.”
The streamer has already announced a season of sequels to the spinoff series, Squid Game: The Challenge. In addition, an English adaptation of the series has also been confirmed, by David Fincher.
Hwang is the writer, director, and executive producer of the new season of the series.
The plot of the second season is set three years after the first season, with a story that focuses on the life of Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), after winning The squid gamegive up going to the United States and return to the games with a new resolution in mind.
