The trailer shows the protagonist superheroine's battles against Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts), beginning with a conversation between Superman (David Corenswet) and Supergirl, in which he attempts to guide her through an emotionally difficult and isolating time:
“Hey, I just wanted to know when you're planning on coming back,” Clark says. You know, I'm worried that you won't find your place here if you keep traveling off-planet all the time, Kara. I'm worried you won't find your people. Kara replies: —Yeah, well, that's the problem, Clark. I don't have people -, later adding that his home is wherever his beloved Krypto is, the scene-stealer of Superman (2025). That is, until Krypto the Superdog is poisoned by the henchmen of the villain Krem of the Yellow Hills, with only three days to save him.
Additionally, the trailer shows a new look at antihero Lobo (Jason Momoa), and Supergirl advises Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), a young woman whose father was murdered by Krem and his henchmen, noting that “revenge won't take away your pain.”
By the way, the movie is based on Tom King's 2022 comics, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. In the comic, Supergirl and the young alien Knoll travel the galaxy to hunt down Krem of Yellow Hill after he murdered her father in cold blood.
