Ingredients

  • 2 cups of cornmeal

  • 1 cup wheat flour

  • 2 cups of sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup oil

  • 1 tablespoon powdered yeast

  • 200g of guava in pieces

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round mold with butter and flour.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cornmeal, wheat flour and sugar.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs lightly and add the milk and oil. 
    Mix well.
  • Add the egg, milk, and oil mixture to the bowl with the dry ingredients. 
    Stir until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • Add the baking powder and mix gently.
  • Put half the dough in the prepared form and distribute pieces of guava paste over it. 
    Cover with the remaining dough.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 40-50 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool before unmolding.
