Tatiana Maslany and Tim Heidecker to star in black comedy 'The Comedy Hour'

The Emmy winner, Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black, Keeper), y Tim Heidecker (Us, Him) are chosen to star The Comedy Hourdescribed as a late night dystopian satireDeadline reported.

The project is produced by Scythia Films (The Apprentice) y Halee Bernard y Julian Higgins (God’s Country).

The black comedy, which will mark the directorial debut of Colby Day, It is set five minutes in the future.when the United States is on the verge of collapse.

Heidecker will play Jimmy, host of a late night show, forced to produce his program in the midst of famine, fire and plague. When the network assigns him a robot to be his co-host and help boost ratings, everyone in America loves him more than him.

Maslany will play Priya, a corporate climber and Jimmy's long-time producer.

Colby made a splash in the Hollywood industry in 2016 with the script for In the Blink of an Eye, which landed on that year's Black List. The script was later acquired and produced by Searchlight Pictures, with Andrew Stanton directing a cast that included Kate McKinnon, Rashida Jones and Daveed Diggs.

Daniel Bekerman, president of Scythia Films, produces the film along with Bernard and Higgins. In a press release, Bekerman said:

“After working on In the Blink of an Eye of Colby, I was looking forward to finding another project with him. I'm a fan of Tim. The current relevance is coincidental, but welcome!”

Day's other scripts include Spaceman (2024), starring Adam Sandler.

Maslany is recognized for her multiple interpretations in the series Orphan Blackwhich earned her the Emmy for best actress in a drama series. Additionally, he has starred in Disney+'s She-Hulk, and films such as Stronger, Destroyer, The Monkeyand the soon to be released, Keeper. Later we will also see it in Star Trek: Starfleet Academyand the Apple series, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed which is in production right now.

Heidecker is best known for his work on Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! from the Adult Swim network. He has been part of film projects such as Us, Pavements, Y2Ky HIM.
