Independent Film Company (IFC) y Shudder They officially started the marketing campaign In a Violent Nature 2the sequel to the arthouse meta slasher In a Violent Nature.
Chris Nash He resumes his work as a screenwriter and director, in a new chapter that follows Johnny, the ruthless serial killer.
The first thing to be launched as part of the promotion is a teaser trailer which takes us to a summer camp, the new setting where Johnny will unleash a wave of violence.
The sequel, announced in July of last year, promised to “prove that Johnny can be bigger, crueler and that his murders can only be more impressive,” according to statements by Scott Shooman, director of the AMC Networks film group, owner of Shudder.
The stakes have been raised then, with the return of Ry Barrett as Johnnya vengeful undead assassin who embarks on a bloody massacre after a group of teenagers steal a golden locket that awakens his spirit:
“In the second film, Johnny heads to summer camp, where he crosses paths with an outcast young camper who is forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends at their annual end-of-season party.”
Emerged as one of the most acclaimed proposals of the 2024 Sundance Festival, one of the selling points of the first installment, titled in Latin America as Violent in nature and described as an environmental horror film, was to tell the plot from the point of view of the murderer rather than that of his victims, causing fury and expectation not only by following Johnny's POV, but by using practical effects, and a particularly imaginative death.

In addition to Barrett returning, the cast includes Lucas Nguyen, Olivia Scriven, Laurie Babin, Fionn Laird, Donald MacLean Jr.y Evan Marsh.
The sequel's producers are Nash, Peter Kuplowsky, Sharon Hanmer and Michael James Regan.
