After several delays, the science fiction thriller The End of Oak Street or by its title in our region The end of Oak Street–previously titled Flowervale Street– finally debuted a first teaser trailer.

The film, written and directed by David Robert Mitchellknown for the acclaimed horror film It Follows (2014) and mystery comedy Under the Silver Lake (2028), stars Oscar winner Anne Hathaway and for Ewan McGregorlike the heads of a family who begin to notice strange happenings in their neighborhood.

The preview allows us to take a better look at the hermetic information that had been had about this particular project, suggesting the inclusion of creatures such as dinosaursand a lot of science fiction.

The film has been described as “an exciting adventure set in the 80s.” Mitchell shot it in IMAX, with a budget of approximately $85 million. Warner Bros. co-head Michael De Luca compares the film to an episode of The Twilight Zone.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

“After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from its suburbs and transports its neighborhood to an unknown location, the Platt family soon discovers that their survival depends on them staying together as they adapt to their now unrecognizable surroundings.”

The cast also includes Maisy Stella (My Old Ass), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth, Frankenstein), Jordan Alexa Davis (Defending Jacob), P.J. Byrne (The Boys), y Chris Coy (Black Rabbit).

Producers are JJ Abrams with Bad Robot Productions, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, David Robert Mitchell, Matt Jackson and Tommy Harper. Executive producers are Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee and Leeann Stonebreaker.

The behind-the-camera team includes Michael Gioulakis as director of photography, Maya Shimoguchi as production designer, John Axelrad as editor, Oscar winner Michael Giacchino (Up) as composer of the soundtrack, and Erin Benach as costume designer.

This is Mitchell's first film since Under the Silver Lakereleased in theaters in 2018. This same year at the beginning of summer, filming of They Followsequel to the aforementioned It Followswith the return of Maika Monroe in the leading role.

The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The End of Oak Street, only in theaters and in IMAX on August 13, 2026 in Latin Americaand on August 14 in the United States.
