Sarah Records was the birthplace and home of a large number of beloved bands on PCP (just think of Sea Urchins, Heavenly or Aberdeenfor example) but few of them – if any – are as much of a landmark for the Bristol label as Field Mice.
The group that was practically born together with the label and became something like its flagship split prematurely after arguments during a show at the end of 1991, but during the three years they were together they carved their name in the indie imagination with three albums where the mix of jangly guitars, broken hearts and (here and there) dance beats have become some of the best b-side rock pop songs of all time.
Attesting to this last statement, we put together today the collection Where’d You Learn To Kiss That Way?which provides a comprehensive overview of the short but intense history of field mice (hahaha) with 36 tracks that make an imaginary connection – or not so much – between the C-86 e Belle and Sebastian.
To fall in love. Or fall in love again.
