The final episodes of 'Yellowstone' already have a release date; Kevin Costner is NOT returning

The series created by Taylor Sheridan, Yellowstonea Paramount Network original, is currently filming Part 2 of season 5, which will mark the end of the series.

The neo-western show premiered its first season in 2018, following the Dutton family as they attempt to defend their lands in Montana. After four seasons, highly acclaimed by critics and audiences, Yellowstone returned with a fifth season in November 2022.

To the surprise of many, including the protagonist himself, Kevin Costnerseason 5 was divided into two parts. Part 2, which is what they are filming right now, will serve as the conclusion of the seriesafter several production delays and behind-the-scenes complications between Costner and Sheridan.

The Part 2 of T5 Yellowstone will premiere on November 10, 2024 on Paramount Network (via THR). At the moment it has not been specified how many episodes will make up part 2. Part 1 had 8 episodes in total. Paramount has not officially said whether Costner will return to reprise his role as patriarch John Dutton.

KEVIN COSTNER CONFIRMS THAT HE WILL NOT RETURN TO YELLOWSTONE

In recent reports, Costner confirmed that he left Yellowstone because the long development process of each season of the series, and the delays in this process, prevented him from working on other projects in a given year. This is in line with previous reports that Costner's role in Yellowstonewere impacting their ability to work on their passion project, Horizon: An American Saga. Costner's film saga will consist of four films in total. Right now it is in production on the third installment.

And with this we come to the bad news for all fans of the series and Costner's work, because although the actor was open to the possibility of returning for the end of the series and being able to close the story of his character , he himself took it upon himself to clear up any doubts about his return as John Dutton.

Through a publication made on Instagram, Costner explained:

“I want to communicate with you and let you know that after this long year and a half working at Horizon and doing everything necessary, and Thinking about Yellowstone, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love, I just realized that I'm not going to be able to continue with season 5B or in the future. It was something that really changed me. I loved. And I know they loved it. And I just wanted to let you know that I won't be coming back and that I love the relationship that we've been able to develop, and that I'll see you in the movies.”

All seasons of Yellowstoneincluding Part 1 of the fifth season, are available for streaming on Paramount Plus in Mexico and the rest of Latin America.
