'The Heidi Fleiss Story' – Alana Haim joins Aubrey Plaza in biopic about Hollywood Madame

After being part of the acclaimed One Battle After Another, Alana Haim is looking for his next film project.

According to reports from Deadline, the actress is in negotiations to star alongside Aubrey Plaza the biographical black comedy about Heidi Fleissthe “Hollywood Madame”, The Heidi Fleiss Story.

Plaza stars in the project as Heidi Fleiss, and produces it.

The Heidi Fleiss Story takes place in Los Angeles in 1993, where a young and powerful woman named Heidi Fleiss (Plaza) is arrested for running the largest luxury prostitution ring in the world.. With the unexpected help of an aspiring writer, Jacolyn (Haim), who promises to write the story of Heidi Fleiss, Heidi desperately moves around Los Angeles trying to blackmail and use her contacts to get the charges dropped.

Leah Rachel will direct the film, marking her feature film directorial debut. The script was written by Rachel, Travis Jackson (Chambers, Hemlock Grove) y Rachel Sennott (I Love LA, Bottoms).

Production is scheduled to begin early next year in Los Angeles.

Plaza produces with her company Evil Hag Productions, alongside Pinky Promise's Jessamine Burgum and Kara Durrett.

In addition to One Battle After AnotherHaim starred Licorice Pizzaalso by Paul Thomas Anderson, and The Mastermind by Kelly Reichardt. In April 2026 we will be able to see it in The Drama from A24, along with Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.

For Plaza, this will be her first role playing a non-fiction character. In recent weeks, the actress spoke about her desire to work on the feature film and talk with Heidi Fleiss, telling IndieWire:

“I've been working on this for a while. I got it in my head that I wanted to play her a couple of years ago, and I've never played a real person before.. It is a challenge of another magnitude, something that excites me very much, and I simply think that he is an incredible person, an incredible character.”.

Plaza continued:

“The story is crazy. He's done something that probably no one else has ever done.and move on. I think he is the definitive icon of rebellion and deserves first-class treatment. we will give it to you”.

“I hope to take a trip to her home in the desert at some point. I feel her spiritually. I heard that you are very excited. “We are in the early stages.”

Fleiss was arrested in 1993 for running a high-profile prostitution ring, and was eventually convicted of tax evasion and served 20 months of a seven-year prison sentence. Despite the punishment, Fleiss has never revealed the names of his clients.
