Lionsgate shared the first poster of The Housemaid’s Secretthriller sequel The Housemaid of Paul Feigwhich launched an installment after the commercial success achieved when it premiered in theaters last December.
The studio also shared the official release date of the sequel, scheduled for December 17, 2027.
The sequel will feature the returns of Sydney Sweeney as the protagonist, Michele Morronedirector Feig, and screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine. In recent days it was confirmed the incorporation of Kirsten Dunst (Civil War, Roofman) as co-star playing Mrs. Wendy Garrick.
Sonnenshine will adapt the second novel in Freida McFadden's literary trilogy, published in 2023.
In The Housemaid’s SecretMillie (Sweeney) returns to work as a housekeeper for a woman she is never allowed to see, only to discover the truth behind the closed door that threatens to reveal secrets much darker than her own.
Production is expected to begin this year.
