The magic of cinema in a behind-the-scenes look at 'Twisters'

The studies Universal Pictures, Warner Bros. Picturesy Amblin Entertainment continue to prepare the audience for the theatrical release of Twisters“a current chapter” of the box office success Twister (1996), by the director Lee Isaac Chung (to the pain).

The latest in the marketing campaign is a new behind-the-scenes look, allowing audiences to learn more about the magic of cinema, and how the incredible efforts of the production team make it possible.

Meanwhile we tell you that the film stars Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Cradwdads Sing, Normal People), Glen Powell (Hit Man, Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone But You), y Anthony Ramos (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, A Star is Born).

Edgar-Jones and Powell portray opposing forces who come together to try to predict, and possibly control, the immense power of tornadoes. She is a former storm chaser who, after surviving a disastrous encounter with a tornado, works behind a desk, though she is soon forced to step into the breach once again.

The original film was the second biggest hit of 1996 in the United States and a groundbreaking visual effects extravaganza. The new installment will build on that legacy by combining cutting-edge digital wizardry with ambitious practical effects work.

The titled Tornados In our market, it is not promoted as a reboot or sequel to the original blockbuster, Twisterbut as an update of it. Studies describe it as a new chapter that does not plan to bring back old characters.

The rest of the cast is made up of Brandon Perea (Nope), Maura Tierney (The Iron Claw), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), David Corenswet (Superman: Legacy), Katy O’Brian (Star Wars: The Mandalorian), y Sasha Lane (American Honey, The Crowded Room).

Chung directs the script for Mark L. Smith (The Revenant), con Frank Marshall (Indiana Jones, Jurassic World, Bourne) as the producer.

Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years, who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. Her friend Javi lures her back to the open plains to test out an innovative new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charmingly reckless social media superstar who enjoys posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous gear – the more dangerous, the better.

As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never before seen are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the path of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.

Warner Bros. will release it in Mexico and the rest of Latin America on July 18, 2024.
