Screen Gems from Sony Pictures and Stage 6 Films continue the marketing campaign for the fifth installment of the saga Insidioustitled Insidious: The Red Door releasing the first (and sinister) official trailer that arrives accompanied by the following warning:
“When you raise the dead… the deeper you go… the riskier your journey becomes.”
The film, which marks the directorial debut for the star of the franchise, Patrick Wilsonis a sequel to Insidious (2010) e Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013). Wilson also reprises his role as Josh Lambert, Rose Byrne come back as Renai Lambert and Ty Simpkinslike Dalton Lambert.
And the big question that fans of the franchise have, will we see the return of Lin Shaye? The actress has appeared in all installments characterizing the medium Elise Rainier, who died in the first film, but the existence of the world The Further provides a door to see her return. The sequel has a script by Scott Teems (Halloween Kills, Rectify, The Quarry) based on the story by Leigh Whanell, co-creator of the franchise along with James Wan.
Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions is the producer along with Wan, Whannell, and Ore Game.
the plot of Insidious revolves around supernatural entities that torment the living, in the case of the first two films, scripted by Leigh Whannell and directed by James Wan, the tormented beings are the Lambert family. The entities come from The Further, a dangerous world inhabited by these spirits, which connects to our world through space and time. The Further has many “red doors” through which demonic entities arrive in our dimension.
The franchise has amassed over $500 million in the global box office. the fourth installment, Insidious: The Last Key it is currently the highest grossing of all with a total of $167 million dollars.
Sony Pictures will release Insidious: The Red Door in theaters on July 7, 2023.
