El arthouse slasher In a Violent Nature of the study IFC Filmsel streamer Shudderand the screenwriter and director Chris Nashlaunched a sequel announced during the panel The Bold Voice of Contemporary Horror in the San Diego Comic-Con of 2024.
The first novelties since then, confirm that the sequel In a Violent Nature 2prepare for start production in September this year in Canadaaccording to Variety reports.
Nash takes up his work as a screenwriter and most likely as director, in a new chapter by Johnny, the ruthless murderer of the first installment.
The producers of the sequel are Nash, Peter Kuploowsky, and Sharon Hanmer. Emily Gotto, Nicholas Lazo and Samuel Zimmerman will supervise for Shudder.
The plot of In a Violent Nature (2024), revolves around the “enigmatic resurrection, the uproar and the remuneration of a non-military monster in a remote desert that unleashes a new iconic murderer.” In Latin America it is titled Of violent nature.
The film emerged as one of those acclaimed at the Sunday 2024 festival, being the first outstanding feature, being related from the point of view of the murderer. The film premiered in theaters of the US, at the end of May, and entered the Top 10 of the highest grossing movies in the history of IFC Films. As of Friday, September 13, it will be available in Shudder.

Johnny's murders will be bigger, cruel and impressive in the sequel
Scott Shoman, director of the AMC Networks Cinematographic Group, owner of Shudder, said in a press release that it is planned to increase bets for the sequel:
“'In A Violent Nature' showed that there is still a longing for new perspectives in the terror panorama. We immediately knew that this particular version of the Slasher would captivate fans and we are happy to see that the community welcomes a new Slasher icon like Johnny. With the sequel, we intend to demonstrate that Johnny can be bigger, more cruel and that his murders can only be more impressive.”
