The slasher 'MaXXXine' by Ti West and A24 will be released in theaters in July 2024 – Cine3.com

The slasher world of the filmmaker You West and the study A24prepares the premiere of its third installment, the titled MaXXXinesequel to X y Pearl, which will mark the conclusion of West's trilogy, with the return of Mia Goth as protagonist.

After having completed filming in May of last year, the A24 studio advances the status of the film setting its theatrical release for July 5, 2024 (via Bloody Disgusting).

We hope that with a confirmed launch date, the marketing campaign will officially start. In 2023 we got our first look at Goth and the co-star Halsey (A Star is Born) where both were seen walking down a street in Los Angeles, CA. We share the image again in this note.

West directs a luxury cast that, in addition to Goth and Halsey, is made up of Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown, Tenet), Moses Sumney (Creed), Michelle Monaghan (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The Family Plan, Echoes, Messiah), Bobby Canavale (Nine Perfect Strangers, The Watcher), Lily Collins (Emily in Paris, Mank), Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad), y Kevin Bacon (They/Them, You Should Have Left).

The trilogy began with the release of Xand later the sequel/prequel Pearlwhich had been filmed secretly after finishing filming X. Both feature films were released in theaters in 2022.

The closing of the trilogy places its plot in the year 1985, six years after the events of Xwhich in turn placed us in the 70s. Pearl For its part, it took us to the year 1918, and was promoted as the “X-traordinary origin story”, from the character Pearl:

• Goth played double roles as Maxine and Pearl in X. She later reprized her role as Pearl in the prequel, and now she reprises her role as Maxine in the closing of the trilogy.

In recent weeks, it was also revealed that the project will be a whodunit slasher. The whodunit subgenre refers to detective novels, puzzle pieces, or investigation, and comes from the contraction of the question “who has done it?” (Who has done it?).

“Mia Goth will return and reprise one of the two roles she played in X. Follows Maxine (Goth), after the events of.

What can we expect from MaXXXine? Goth previously commented that it will be the best film of the trilogy:
