The third season of 'Euphoria' reveals a new trailer

HBO continues to prepare the audience for the long-awaited return of its original series, Euphoriawith the third season premiere scheduled for April.

The popular youth series returns to our screens after an absence of four years!, and fittingly, the plot will include a 5-year time jump and much more drama.

The returning lead cast includes Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, y Maude Apatowwith its characters now in their time as young adults dealing with sex and drug addiction, love, friendship, and trauma.

When the creator series Sam Levinson returns to our screens, we will find the group of teenagers turned into young adults, with the protagonist Rue (Zendaya), south of the border with Mexico and indebted to the drug trafficker Laurie (Martha Kelly); the unhappy Cassie (Sweeney) and Nate (Elordi) engaged, living in the suburbs; Jules (Schafer) studying art; Maddie (Demie) working at a Hollywood talent agency; and Lexi (Apatow) works as an assistant to a showrunner, played by new cast member, Sharon Stone.

In the first teaser trailer, released in January, Rue gets into trouble with Laurie. In the latest trailer, we find out that Laurie isn't the only one chasing her, as Rue tells her that someone named Alamo is trying to kill her and will kill Laurie too.

At the beginning of the trailer, drug agents interrogate Rue and ask her if she has ever been to Mexico. We then see her in Mexico, where she is forced to swallow something suspicious. Later, a police officer tells her that she is “a good girl in a bad situation.”

The most shocking thing about the trailer is that we see Maddy (Demie), Cassie's former best friend, reappear in her life and help her film adult content, while Jules (Schafer) studies art and aspires to be a painter, in addition, she is a “sugar baby”, who is seen dating older men.

New cast members for this season include Stone, Danielle Deadwyler (The Woman in the Yard), Eli Roth (The Idol), Natasha Lyonne (Poker Face), Marshawn Lynch, Sam Trammell, Thank you Blackand the singer Rosalía.

Colman Domingo, Chloe Cherry, Dominic Fikey Nika King are other returning cast members, while absences will be Storm Reidwho confirmed in 2023 that he would not return, Barbie Ferreirawho left the series after the conclusion of the second season, Austin Abramsy Javon Walton. Angus Cloud He died in July 2023 with the story of his character Fez, leaving it open-ended. It remains to be seen if Levinson has closed his story in the new season.

Besides, Eric Daneinterpreter of Cal Jacobs, father of Nate (Elordi), who died on February 19 after a long battle against ALS, will appear in the third season. The actor, also known for his role in Grey’s Anatomyhad already finished filming his scenes for the next season, as we see in the image below taken from the most recent trailer.

Levinson is the director and executive producer, with Zendaya serving as executive producer alongside Ravi Nandan, Drake, Adel “Future” Nur, Will Greenfield, Ashley Levinson, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, and Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein. Kevin Turen, another of the executive producers, died in November 2023 at the age of 44.

The long-awaited return of Euphoria comes more than four years after the second season premiered on HBO, and concluded in February 2022. This unusually long hiatus was due to several factors, such as the cast's schedule alignment, and Levinson's commitments, such as his other series with HBO, The Idol, and the Hollywood union strikes.

The third season premieres April 12, 2026 en HBO Max.
