The thriller 'G20', starring Viola Davis, premieres in April on Prime Video

The action thriller G20announced having set its release date in Prime Video for spring.

The streamer announced that the project, starring Viola Davis (Creature Commandos, AIR, The Woman King), will premiere on April 10, 2025 in the 240 territories where Prime Video is availableaccording to reports from Variety.

G20, directed by the Mexican filmmaker Patricia Riggen (The Same Moon, The 33, Miracles from Heaven), and starring Oscar winner and EGOT status recipient, Davis, playing US President Danielle Sutton, centers its plot on Sutton as the target of an attack during the annual G20 summit of world leaders.

The synopsis says:

“Terrorists take over the G20 summit with US President Danielle Sutton bringing her military and government experience to defend her family, her company and the world.

“After evading capture by the attackers, Sutton must outsmart the enemy to protect her family, defend her country, and safeguard world leaders.”

In addition to Davis, the cast includes Anthony Anderson (Black-ish, Grown-ish) like Derek Sutton, Clark Gregg (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as Vice President Harold Mosely, Marsai Martin (Black-ish) as Serena Sutton, Ramon Rodriguez (Will Trent, Iron Fist) as Agent Manny Ruiz, Douglas Hodge (The Great, We Live in Time) as Oliver Everett, Elizabeth Marvel (Presumed Innocent, The Dropout) as Joanna Worth, Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) as Elena Romano, Christopher Farrar (Atlanta, Call Me Kat) como Demetrius Sutton, Julius Tennon (AIR, The Woman King) as CIA Director Mikkelson, Angela Sarafyan (Westworld), y Antony Starr (The Boys) como Rutledge.

The script of G20 was written by Caitlin Parrish (Supergirl, The View from Tall), Erica Weiss, Logan Miller (White Boy Rick) y Noah Miller (White Boy Rick), with a story of the Millers.

Davis, Tennon and Andrew Lazar are producing, with David Fliegel serving as executive producer.

Amazon MGM Studios and MRC are co-producing the project with Mad Chance Productions and JuVee Productions.

In a press release obtained by the source, Riggen said:
