Ti West's slasher 'MaXXXine' reveals trailer featuring Mia Goth

A24 continues to prepare the audience for the long-awaited premiere of the third installment of the filmmaker's slasher world You Westthe titled MaXXXinesequel to X y Pearl, which will mark the conclusion of West's trilogy.

We can now say that the marketing campaign for the sequel has officially started, with the launch of the first official poster and trailer, in which we see the return of Mia Goth as the protagonist playing Maxine Minx.

Meanwhile we tell you that West directs a luxury cast, with Goth, Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown, Tenet), Michelle Monaghan (Mission: Impossible sagaThe Family Plan), Bobby Canavale (Nine Perfect Strangers, The Watcher), Lily Collins (Emily in Paris, Mank), Halsey (A Star is Born), Moses Sumney (Creed), Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad), y Kevin Bacon (They/Them, You Should Have Left).

The trilogy began with the release of Xand later the sequel/prequel Pearlwhich had been filmed in secret after finishing filming X. Both feature films were released in theaters in 2022.

The closing of the trilogy places its plot in the year 1985, six years after the events of Xwhich in turn placed us in the 70s. Pearl For its part, it took us to the year 1918, and was promoted as the “X-traordinary origin story”, from the character Pearl:

• Goth played double roles as Maxine and Pearl in X. She later reprized her role as Pearl in the prequel, and now she reprises her role as Maxine in the closing of the trilogy.

It was previously revealed that the project will be a whodunit slasher. The whodunit subgenre refers to detective novels, puzzle pieces, or investigation, and comes from the contraction of the question “who has done it?” (Who has done it?).

This is the description that was previously revealed about MaXXXine:

“Mia Goth will return and reprise one of the two roles she played in X. Follows Maxine (Goth), after the events of.

“It all stems from X, which featured Goth as the survivor of a porn shoot that goes wrong when her hosts in rural Texas see what they're doing and the cast and crew end up fighting for their lives. West wrote the script”.

What can we expect from MaXXXine? Goth previously commented that it will be the best film of the trilogy:

“It's the best script of the three by far. It will be the best movie of the three. This will be our third film that we will work on together. “We have an understanding between us.”

“It's the biggest story of the three with the highest stakes and Maxine has been through a lot at this point. So when we find her in this new world, she's just a force to be reckoned with and goes through some pretty wild adventures..”

Filming concluded last May. Later A24 set the theatrical release of MaXXXine for July 5, 2024.
