This week Netflix premiered on the streamer thriller de terror Don’t Move, from the producer Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Drag Me to Hell), acquired last April by the streamer for distribution worldwide.
In case you haven't seen the film yet, Netflix wants to convince you by releasing an intense new trailer this morning, proving that a lot can happen in 20 minutes, including fighting for your life.
The project titled don't move in our market, it is led by Adam Schindler y Brian Netto (50 States of Fright) with a hyphen T.J. Cimfel y David White (Intruders).
Kelsey Asbille (Yellowstone, Fargo, Wind River) y Find Wittrock (The Big Short, Ratched) co-star the film that aims to tell a story in real time, with a duration of 85 minutes.
The plot centers on a woman (Asbille) who is grieving in an isolated forest when she meets a stranger. The man ends up injecting him with a paralyzing agent, which gives him a limited time of 20 minutes to seek help, before your entire nervous system completely shuts down.
The trailer, available at the end of this note, begins with a 20-minute countdown while we hear the voice-over of the serial killer (Wittrock) tell Iris: “You have approximately 20 minutes before you become completely paralyzed,” to which she responds terrified, “What have you done to me?”
The man explains the effects step by step: “At minute one, your fine motor skills will start to fail. At minute 10, your legs will start to tingle. At minute 15, your legs will completely give way. At minute 18, your breathing will become labored. And just before everything goes out, your voice.”
Asbille explained on Geeked Week the meaning of what his character is going through:
“[La película] It's a “dynamic, stripped-down thriller that sometimes feels very personal. That's what struck me, desperately fighting to overcome something that has left you paralyzed.”
Co-director Netto asked the writers: “The challenge we posed to them was: 'We would love it to be in real time.' “We love movies that do that.”
