After acquiring distribution rights in mid-2025, Amazon MGM Studios has set the theatrical release of The Beekeeper 2.

The sequel will hit theaters on January 15, 2027during the Martin Luther King Day long holiday weekend in the United States, according to Deadline reports. As a curious fact, the first film was also released on the big screen during the same long weekend, accumulating $162.6 million worldwide.

The action thriller is directed by Timo Tjahjanto (Nobody 2), with a script written by Kurt Wimmerscreenwriter of the first film. Jason Statham returns in a leading role.

Amazon MGM Studios acquired global distribution by paying more than $50 million to the production company Miramax, which negotiated the agreement with the studio. Amazon MGM repeats as distributor after having done so with the original delivery, The Beekeeperlaunched in 2024.

In addition to Statham, the sequel's cast includes Jeremy Irons (The Morning Show), Yara Shahidi (Grown-ish), Pom Klementieff (Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning), y Adam Copeland (Percy Jackson and the Olympians), with the returns of Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderiy Jemma Redgrave.

The plot of the first film, directed by David Ayer, follows a retired human intelligence agent, Adam Clay (Statham) who sets out to exact revenge after his kind landlady becomes the victim of a phishing scam that steals millions of dollars from a charity she runs.

In the sequel, former government assassin Adam Clay, now a wanted man, continues his revenge against those who wronged him.

The sequel is produced and financed by Miramax. The producers are Statham, Chris Long, and Wimmer.
