Toaka «Discord-disco» – I had already extensively acknowledged the young Japanese singer in my 2024 annual review, as she immediately took second place in my charts with her debut album “変身のレシピ (Henshin no reshipi)”. But in case someone skipped my lists (and since Toaka is simply too interesting a new artist), I want to explicitly give her the stage she deserves again today. She has an amazing stylistic range on her album, both musically and in terms of her singing. Considering she's only 21, that's really impressive and leaves you wanting more.
“Maiden” was my main hit of hers and sounds completely different:
Cloth «Polaroid» – a chance discovery on YouTube is this British duo, whose extremely pleasant indie guitar sound also goes well with the dreary winter.
