Tobin Bell confirms his return as Jigsaw to 'SAW XI'

We haven't seen the last of John Kramer/Jigsaw.

Tobin Bell confirmed his return to SAW XI, the sequel to SAW X (2023) which is currently in development.

John Kramer is a cancer patient and an engineer who places his victims in death traps to teach them moral lessons about how to value life. He made his debut with the original film Saw (2004). Kramer died in the aftermath Saw III (2006), however, adjustments and tricks in the timeline of the horror franchise have allowed its appearance in all installments, with the exception of the spinoff Spiral (2021). The most recent of them, Saw Xwas a prequel set between the events of the first two films.

In an interview with the LA Times, Bell revealed that he will reprise his iconic role in SAW XI:

“It's all in the writing. This isn't just one guy outside the screen door with a side light on him. I'm very excited to continue developing it. John Kramer is not done. There is more to learn.”

It is believed that SAW XI It will be a direct sequel to SAW X.

If this is the case, there is a reduced amount of time in which the plot of the next installment can develop, since the events of Saw III (2006) in which John Kramer died, take place approximately a year after the events of SAW X (2023).

Lionsgate launched the eleventh installment of the slasher horror franchise SAW last December, after the box office success of SAW X in September 2023.

The game of fear will then continue with the return of Kevin Greutert as director, after having directed Saw X and other chapters of the franchise such as Saw VI (2009), y Saw: The Final Chapter (2010). Greutert was also the editor of Saw, Saw II, Saw II, Saw IV, Saw Vy Jigsaw.

The script is co-written by Patrick Melton y Marcus Dunstancoguionistas of installments of the franchise like Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI, y Saw 3D.

Oren Koules and Mark Burg will produce the new installment. James Wan and Leigh Whannell are the co-creators of Saw and they have credit as executive producers of the saga.

Saw XI set its theatrical release for September 26, 2025.
