According to reports from THR, Cruise is holding talks with the studio to give the green light to a sequel to the NASCAR car racing film. Apparently, it would work in a similar way to what happened with Top Gunwhich released the sequel in 2022 Top Gun: Maverick.

Both Top Gun as Days of Thunderare Paramount productions, produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer, and directed by Tony Scott.

Plans to revive Days of Thunder In one way or another they are not new. Previously, Paramount floated the idea of developing a television series for Paramount+, featuring Cruise.

Iñárritu's next project for Warner Bros and Legendary; the development of a Doug Liman film set in space; and the development of a sequel to Top Gun: Maverickconsidered a priority for all those involved.
