Ingredients
3 eggs
2 cups of sugar
2 cups of wheat flour
1 cup of milk
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 can of condensed milk
1 can of coconut milk
1 cup of milk
100g grated coconut (to sprinkle over the cake)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a rectangular pan (approximately 20×30 cm) with butter and flour.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until you obtain a fluffy and homogeneous mixture.
- Add the sifted wheat flour little by little, alternating with the milk, and continue beating until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
- Finally, add the baking powder and mix gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, or until the cake is golden and firm to the touch.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the syrup: in a bowl, mix the condensed milk, coconut milk and milk with a whisk until you get a homogeneous mixture.
- Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and, while still hot, poke holes all over its surface with a fork.
- Pour the syrup over the hot cake, making sure the syrup penetrates the holes.
- Sprinkle the grated coconut over the cake, covering it completely.
- Let the cake cool completely before cutting it into square pieces and serving.
