Venom marked the start of Sony Pictures' Spider-Man universe, also dubbed Sony's Spider-Verse Universe (SSU). This universe aims to bring the antihero characters of the Spider-Man universe to the big screen. The already released Morbius y Madame Web are other feature films that make up the SpiderVerse, in addition to the cancelled The Deadwhich stars Bad Bunny.

Venom 3 It is the sequel to Venom: Let There Be Carnagewhich was released in theaters in October 2021, and became one of the box office hits of pandemic times. In December of the same year we saw the character again, in one of the post-credits scenes of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Venom became a box office phenomenon upon its release in October 2018, quickly breaking box office records. The film grossed $855 million worldwide, so making a sequel was a no-brainer for the studio. On the other hand, Venom: Let There Be Carnage had a global box office of $455.5 million, which, remember, does not mean a failure in itself, since commercial success in times of pandemic is incomparable to the box office of 2019 and earlier.

Sony Pictures releases Venom: The Last Dance October 25th in theaters from all over the world.
