Following the success of the documentary about David Beckham, entitled Beckham, Netflix has given the green light to a docuseries focused on Victoria Beckham.
The news was announced by the streamer during the Edinburgh TV Festival this week (via Netflix).
Netflix Production of the documentary series began on August 21. Victoria Beckham's fashion and beauty business will continue.
The docuseries includes:
“Exclusive access to Victoria, her family and those closest to her, the series explores her time in the global spotlight. Following her husband David Beckham's documentary series chronicling his rise to fame as a successful footballer and pop culture icon, The upcoming documentary promises to get closer to the former pop star as she juggles her business and family life.“
The streamer added in a post on X/Twitter:
“The series will tell the story of Victoria’s reinvention as creative director of her own brand, offering exclusive access to Victoria, her fashion and beauty business and her never-before-seen archives.
Nicola Howsonwhich also made Beckhamwill be the executive producer of the new documentary series. Julia Nottingham (Pamela: A Love Story, The Greatest Night in Pop), joins Howson on the project.
The docuseries will be produced by Studio 99 and Dorothy St Pictures. David Beckham is the owner of Studio 99, which previously produced Beckham from Netflix and Save Our Squad from Disney+.
Beckham is a four-part documentary series that aimed to tell “The inside story of a world soccer star and cultural icon”. It was released by Netflix on October 4, 2023, and spent its first six weeks on Netflix’s Top 10 TV Shows list. It is nominated for the 2024 Emmy Awards, which will be held in September.
The Victoria Beckham docuseries does not yet have an episode count or additional details.
