Ingredients
2 cups of wheat flour
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of natural yogurt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin with butter or vegetable oil.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar and baking powder.Â
Make a hole in the center of the mixture. - In the hole, add the yogurt, vegetable oil, eggs and vanilla essence (if using).
- With a fouet or a spoon, mix all the ingredients until you get a homogeneous mass.Â
Be sure not to overmix, just until all ingredients are incorporated. - Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and spread it out evenly.
- Place the tin in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes.Â
Then transfer it to a cooling rack and let it cool completely before serving. - Yogurt cake can be served plain, dusted with icing sugar, or topped with a topping of your choice, such as chocolate sauce or lemon icing.
