During the Nintendo Direct event dedicated to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Universal Pictures, Nintendo e Illumination Studios revealed a new trailer that includes the first look at Yoshi and Birdo…and the cameo of a Mario enemy: Mouser.
Yoshi joins Mario, Luigi and Toad, after being rescued from the Sand Kingdom, as seen in the new trailer for the film, whose return was teased in the post-credits scene of The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023).
The trailer also shows Mario and Peach avoiding a series of deadly traps in Bowser's castle; Luigi acquiring and violently using the Frog Suit; and Yoshi and Toad protecting Baby Mario and Baby Luigi from a T-Rex, hinting at more material on the Mario Bros. origin story. There are also quite a few surprises hidden in the trailer, including Yoshi wielding a Super Scope 6 and a cameo from a little-seen Mario enemy: Mouser.

The new additions are Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) as Princess Rosalina and Benny Safdie (Oppenheimer) as Bowser Jr.

Aaron Horvath y Michael Jelenic they return as directors, while Matthew Fogel returns as screenwriter.
The music is provided by Brian Tyler, making his return as a composer.
The producers are Chris Meleandri of Illumination, and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo. The film is co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo, and will be released globally in theaters by Universal.
The previous delivery, The Super Mario Bros. Movierevolutionized the box office upon its release in 2023, positioning itself as the third highest-grossing animated film of all time at the global box office with $1.36 billion, behind number two, Inside Out 2 ($1,698 million), and the absolute animated champion, Ne Zha 2 ($2,150 million). The film earned a net profit of $559 million after all subsequent revenues.
The premiere of Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie is scheduled for April 1, 2026 (two days before the originally announced date) in all theaters.
