In a surprising twist, the Fox television network, opted not to renew its highest-rated scripted series, 9-1-1which will air the finale of the sixth season on May 15.
However, the fandom of the drama series will not have to worry about the fate of 9-1-1Well, according to Deadline reports, season 7 will move to ABC. “It has been an honor to be the founding network of 9-1-1 and we are grateful to Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, along with Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Ryan Guzman and the rest of the cast and crew, and 20th Television for delivering such an impactful series to Fox. We wish them the very best after the final season of 9-1-1 on Fox concludes.”
Deadline’s report reveals that Fox’s decision was “a financial decision”. Given that, “6 seasons later, 9-1-1 remains the network’s highest-rated scripted series among adults 18-49 and its most-watched series overall, but it’s also its most expensive at around $9 million to $100,000. 10 million per episode.”
