'Fall 2' signs the Spierig Brothers as directors

With filming scheduled to start next June for the sequel Fall 2Lionsgate announces that the sequel has signed The Spierig Brothers as directors from the survival thriller (via Bloody Disgusting).

Michael y Peter Spierig (Jigsaw, Daybreakers) will direct the script of Scott Mann y Jonathan Frank, co-writers of the original installment that was also directed by Mann. In our market, the film was titled Vertigo.

Upon release in theaters in August 2022, Fall had a very positive showing, collecting a global box office of $17 million, against a budget of just $3 million. The story of Fall revolves around best friends Becky and Hunter – played by Grace Caroline Currey (Shazam!, Annabelle: Creation) y Virginia Gardner (Runaways, Halloween) – who climb a remote and abandoned radio tower in the desert, becoming trapped at the top of the tower, 600 meters above the ground. The friends' expert climbing skills will be put to the test as they desperately fight to survive the elements, lack of supplies, and dizzying heights.

The consequences Fall 2 y Fall 3 will bring back the original characters from the first film, while leaving room for new ones to be introduced. Mann will return to write and direct the third installment.

The Spierig brothers said in a press release:

James Harris y Mark Lane de Tea Shop Productions (47 Meters Down) return as producers alongside Mann, Christian Mercuri, and David Haring. Dan Asma, John Long, and Roman Viaris return as executive producers alongside Ruzanna Kegeyan.
